Hi there!
I’m Jilly. I help business leaders and professionals to grow themselves, their people and their business.
With knowledge and experience that’s been 25 years in the making, I feel like I’ve earned both the silver hair and the trust of my clients!
Having studied psychology at University and been lucky enough to land my first Learning & Development role shortly afterwards, growing careers and helping people to get out of their own way and really fulfill their potential has been my passion ever since.
I love to learn, and am constantly staying on top of the ever-changing world of workplace learning! I hold qualifications and accreditations galore (I’ll list them out below), but the thing that keeps me fresh is my incredible network and staying ahead of my two young kids’ homework (honestly - terrifying).
My values
My work and my values overlap hugely, and helping organisations to become better at retaining, nurturing and developing diverse talent is a big deal to me. Inclusion - and what that means for the sustainability and successive of a commercial business and our society - is a big driver for me.
To that end, I make sure that my own practices stack up with that. I carbon offset all business travel that can’t be done on my bike or via public transport, and support a number of third sector organisations to access support that the private sector can access more easily.
My family are my compass for everything, and make sure I keep a sense of humour and balance! My political family and the privilege of elected office make sure I never take any of that for granted, and I’ll always seek to work with people striving to leave the world in a better place than they found it.
My experience
I’ve had the privilege to work across a wide range of industries over my 25 year long career - financial services, civil aviation, insurance, manufacturing, legal and even funerals - and in different parts of the world. What this has taught me is that navigating change and growth in any context demands pin-sharp strategic leadership - and that demands a clarity that can be fast-tracked with a little outside help.
I am a Fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. I’m an accredited Myers Briggs Step II Practitioner, and currently working towards ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching. My degree in Psychology is what started it all. I blame/thank Prof Hockey and Dr Sheridan for the inspiration.
